The blank of Pipe Fittings Mould is generally formed by forging. The purpose of forging is to obtain a certain geometric shape, so as to save raw materials, save processing time and reduce costs. At the same time, by forging, the microstructure of the material is fine, the carbide distribution and streamline distribution are reasonable, the heat treatment performance is improved and the service life of the pipe fittings mould is prolonged.

For the general structural parts of casting dies, forging is usually aimed at obtaining a certain geometric shape. Facing the main working parts of casting dies, especially those requiring high heat treatment quality and long service life, such as punch and die of stamping die, cavity of forging die, plastic die and die-casting die, the main purpose is to improve the performance of raw materials by forging, besides obtaining certain geometric shape, saving raw materials and reducing processing time.

    1. The density of the material itself is improved by repeated bumping and pulling, so that the grains in the internal structure can be further uniform, thus improving the service performance of the material.

    2. After forging, the streamline direction or streamline bending of the material is changed, thus improving the mechanical properties of the material.

    3. After forging, the distribution of carbides in the material is improved, the distribution grade is increased, the strength and toughness of the material are enhanced, and the processability is improved.

From this point of view, the pipe fittings mould, especially the main working parts, must be forged before processing. Only in this way can we give full play to the mechanical properties of the material and prolong the service life of the casting mould.
