Orbi Blue Light | Ultimate Methods To Fix This Issue

Orbi Router provides the best top-notch Wi-Fi service. It extends the Wi-Fi range from the basement to the backyard.

This satellite router works all day and night while optimizing Wi-Fi. When you observe something wrong with your Orbi device, it is normal for you to be concerned.

For instance, a glimpse of blue light for 90–180 seconds is natural. But if the light gets stuck for five minutes or more, you may get worried. To understand the matter in depth, stay on this page. We will cover all the queries related to Orbi Blue Light.

What does the Orbi blue light mean?

It is usual to see a blue light on the Orbi router. It means the apparatus is working fine and ready for operation.

The concern here is to check the duration of the light.

Solid Blue Light: If you see a solid blue light for 90-180 seconds, it’s normal.
It implies that the satellite and router have a robust and stable connection.

Blinking Blue: It hints at a poor or blocked connection between the two devices.

Make sure the satellites are always within the range because a router can only connect for a few square meters.

How To Fix The Stuck Orbi Blue Light:

Location Of the Orbi router:

Place the Orbi router about 2-3 feet above the ground level. Keep it nearby the Internet modem. The Satellite must be within range of the Wi-Fi router.

Restart the Satellite Modem: Follow the instructions given:

1. Locate the cables on the side of the modem.
2. Below the fan, there should be a power cable.
3. There is an I/O switch underlying the power cable.
4. Toggle the switch to the “O” position.
5. The lights on the front of the modem should be in an off mode.
6. After waiting for 30 seconds, toggle the switch to the “I” position.
7. You will see the lights appearing. Try to access the internet after 5 minutes.

Restart the Orbi network:

After rebooting the Orbi satellite, check if the issue still exists.
If yes, try restarting the Orbi network. Here’s how to do it:

1. Turn off the Orbi router, modem, and all Orbi satellites.
2. Remove the power cables and disconnect the supply.
3. Reconnect the modem first to turn it on.
4. It will take 2 minutes to boot and connect.
5. After the restart, the blue light will turn off after 3 minutes.
Still didn’t work? Then go for the next step.

Sync the routers and satellite: What you need to do is:

1. Turn the satellite on after plugging it into the power source.
2. The satellite’s ring should give a white or magenta light.
3. On the router, press the SYNC button.
4. Locate the sync button on the satellite. Press and hold it for 120 seconds.
5. Wait for about 5 minutes to complete syncing.

The satellite would show a white light while syncing. Each light has its own meaning. Check the color to determine the status:
Pulsing white. The booting process continues.

Solid white. The satellite is ready to sync with the router.

Blue for more than two minutes. A strong connection formed with the router.

Amber for three minutes. Fair connection.

Magenta/ Purple: Synchronization process failed.

Off. Synced properly and working fine.

Update Orbi’s firmware:

Sometimes the use of outdated firmware also creates a stuck white light. The softwares need a regular update. Update it from the admin dashboard. Log in to the account on the Netgear Orbi router.

1. Go to the “Admin Dashboard”.
2. In the menu click on Advanced and then click on ‘Administration’.
3. There would be an option for a firmware update. Click on it.
4. Further click on Online Update. Click on the check button.
5. A new firmware upgrade process will start.
6. The router and all satellites will restart after the upgrade.
Wait for them to boot completely. Reconfigure the router.
