How do I copy, cut and paste using the context menu on my iPhon

  • How do I copy, cut and paste using the context menu on my iPhone and iPad?

Open the application of interest from where you want to copy, for example Safari.

    2. Long tap (press and hold) on the content (text, link, photo) that you want to copy to the clipboard. When copying text, use the selection "sliders" to increase or decrease the number of copied words. You can drag the pointers left and right as well as up and down.

    3. In text editors like Notes, you can also use click sequences to select (highlight) a word, sentence, paragraph, or all of the text on the screen:

-To select a word, tap it twice with one finger.

-To select a sentence, tap it three times.

-If you want to select a paragraph, tap it four times.

-To select all the text on a page, double-tap at the beginning and gesture with two fingers down the page.

    4. With the text (link, photo, etc.) you want to copy selected, click "Copy" or "Cut". The copied text will end up on the "clipboard," ready to paste anywhere. The "clipboard" works in the background and is invisible to users. Note that only one item can be stored there. If you copy something else, the previous copy will be deleted from the buffer.

    5. Tap the location in the app or document where you want to paste the text. Now hold your finger on that location until a menu appears. Tap Paste to place the copied data here.

How to copy and paste text using gestures

Apple has introduced many new gestures in iOS 13. For example, you can now use quick three-finger motions to perform common operations like copy and paste in apple cell phones. Depending on your preference, you can either tap Copy/Paste through the menu as described above, or use these gestures. It is best to perform them with your thumb and the other two fingers. Select the text and then:

Cut: pinch twice with three fingers.

Copy: put three fingers together (imagine you are piecing together words from the screen).

Paste: spread three fingers apart (imagine you're putting something on the screen).
