Pruning a Christmas tree is usually a fun task, but trimming a tree in your garden can feel intimidating. Pruning or pruning the tree, if done correctly, will keep your tree growing strong and looking great for years to come. so, what are you doing? You grab your tools and trim, that's all!

Trees should be pruned in late fall or early winter, and waiting until all the leaves have fallen off is a great indicator that the tree is ready for winter and that any pruning you do will reduce stress on the tree. This will be a welcome relief in the spring when the leaves begin to bud again.

If your tree is damaged in a storm, it is best to get rid of the broken branches immediately, you do not want them to fall and make more chaos in your garden than necessary. Experts say there is no point in waiting until late autumn to take care of a tree that was broken in June.

So, you have your tree. Branches grow like wildfire and some are intruding on your rooftop or entry as you head up and down your driveway. This means that your tree needs pruning. First, step back and look at the tree, evaluate it in some way, imagine what you want it to look like and identify the main branches as you want to keep it intact.

Your first task is to get rid of all the damaged branches as they make the tree unhealthy. Second, you want to thin out the thicker areas with twigs, and get rid of any twigs that grow toward the middle of the tree because they cause crowding within the tree system itself. Next you want to prune branches that are obstructions. If some hit the ceiling, clip them back, and if they're dangling in the driveway, get them out of there tree trimming sydney.

The last pruning you should do is shape the tree into a nicer shape. Get rid of any branches protruding at odd angles or tangled in other trees. Just remember to cut only what you need to prune, and remove no more than twenty-five percent of the twigs. You want the tree to be healthy and happy, and with a little TLC you can totally make it happen!
