Kitchen Island Benches

If you ever look at current kitchen design renovation building shows on TV, one item that always seems to feature across most of these will be updating your kitchen to include a free-standing Island Kitchen Bench. Given your kitchen receives the most interaction from members of your household when compared to any other room, it is always a smart choice to makeover your kitchen, both from a financial point of view and from functionality as well. An island bench is a great place to start, and in this article, I’ll outline some of the other benefits that you may or may not have considered.

    Size and Shape.

Whilst it is important to be able to move about your kitchen freely, sometimes too much open space could be put to better use through the inclusion of the island bench. This will likely result in the removal of some of those awkward corner cupboards, in which you had items stashed away for years because they were too hard to reach or even investigate. With an island bench, you have easy, squared-off access to cupboard space on all sides. The amount of new storage space you will obtain will probably surprise you!

    Room for Appliances

Having all that extra space can be ideal for hiding all those extra fancy kitchen gadgets that you always wanted, such as blenders, mixers, steamers, or fryers. If you want to get really fancy you can look at creating motorized shelving that allows these items to magically appear at the flick of a switch. You can also look at integrating dishwashers, wine fridges, or even single drawer fridges like the kitchens of some of the best chefs in the world.

    Workspace

If you, like many people can work from home but do not have a dedicated workspace, a large kitchen bench can be an ideal alternative. It gives you enough space to spread out, and by including a few power locations under the bench, you can easily have a source of power for your laptop. It can also be the ideal spot for your kids to complete their homework, in a space where you can keep an eye on them if need be. Then when they finish you can use the same area to serve up their meals, as this area can also double as an eating space!

The Process of Renovating a Bathroom and Kitchen:

    Appearance plus

Walking into a home with a well-thought-out and modernized kitchen will make you the envy of most of your friends! While it is up to you as to what colors and materials you want to use, most modern materials are significantly more durable than those in kitchens of old, and a fancy stone benchtop is sure to last you a very long time! Accent these with a bit of clever lighting and the area will be sure to put a smile on your face for quite some time.

    Increased value

Not only will your kitchen be fantastic to use and look amazing, but the return on investment for your property will be significant. It is a known fact that a functional modern kitchen will actually draw in more interested buyers, as people often are looking for a house that has modern amenities, extra storage, and isn’t completely dated. The inclusion of a new island kitchen bench gives you all these benefits in abundance!
