The pump structures commonly used in the system can be divided into gear pumps, vane pumps and plunger pumps.
The gear pump is small in size, simple in structure, loose in requirements for oil cleanliness, and relatively inexpensive. However, the pump shaft cannot bear the weight of gravity, the wear is serious, and the leakage is large.
Vane pumps are divided into double-acting vane pumps and single-acting vane pumps. The pump has the advantages of uniform flow, smooth operation, low noise, high working pressure and volumetric efficiency, and a more complex structure than the gear pump.
The plunger pump has high volumetric efficiency, small leakage, and can work under high pressure. It is mainly used in high-power hydraulic systems.
However, the structure is complex, the requirements for materials and processing accuracy are high, the price is expensive, and the cleanliness of the oil is high. In general, the plunger pump is only used when the gear pump and vane pump cannot meet the requirements.
There are some other types of hydraulic pumps, such as screw pumps, but their application is not as common as the above three types.
