    An Infrastructure Lead Engineer plays an active role in the development of an organization’s infrastructure strategy architecture, service delivery standards and best practices. These professionals work in collaboration with network architects and network engineers. They assist in developing the necessary IT infrastructure that enables all essential business applications to run efficiently.

    The lead engineer is responsible for the smooth and reliable operation of software and systems. They have to come up with innovative strategies for new and existing applications, software and operating systems. The professional must offer technical assistance to the IT teams and will have to focus more on networking security and desktop support. It is the Infrastructure Lead Engineer who must take care of the wireless networks such as servers, storage, routers, and other related hardware.

    The professionals must create and maintain policies for network administration, usage and data recovery. The engineer will assist with any changes related to networking infrastructure. They have to work in collaboration with the network operations to take care of the firewall, proxy, load balancing, and Wide IP requests. The professionals should have an in-depth understanding of network security technologies and must be able to work with open source configuration management tools extensively. They will have to define, submit and track infrastructure procurement requests.

The engineer must have a good knowledge of network infrastructure, routers, firewalls, and other relevant network protocols and concepts.

    The Lead Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for ongoing management, maintenance of Data Protection tools, Active Directory and Anti-Virus Management. The professional has to manage, maintain and create complex automations solutions to improvise the service delivery. They should have a proper understanding of the policies and guidelines of the Information Security Management.
