There Is A Problem With The Structure Of Fiber Optic Splice Closure

Fiber Optic Splice Closure has poor sealing performance:

    1. There is a problem with the structure of the fiber connector box.

At present, most of the fiber optic connector closures used in fiber optic cable engineering are not equipped with wet conditions. When the construction personnel complete the assembly process in accordance with the requirements of the subsequent process, they are buried in the ground and cannot judge the sealing performance.

    2. The influence of external conditions

The cable buried near the railway subgrade and the shoulder of the railway is affected by ground motion, train vibration and ground temperature changes. Vertical and horizontal torsional forces and pressures are created at the joint, causing deformation of the sealed portion of the fiber optic splice closure, resulting in a closure failure. At present, the leakage of the integrated optical cable connector in use is blocked, and the fastening screw of the sealed optical fiber connector closure buried in the ground for a long time is loose.

    3. Fiber connector closure sealing material deterioration

For the above reasons, a part of the optical fiber joint box is buried in the ground and the sealing state is poor, and inevitably, water inflow is inevitable for a long time, resulting in an increase in loss of the optical element. Adverse consequences of fiber and transmission quality degradation.

    Improvements:

    1. Increase the experimental conditions of the seal. The valve is temporarily installed on the air release hole of the sealed joint box. When the adhesive material is cured, an air filling test is performed. After confirming that the fitting is properly sealed, remove the valve and tightly seal the bleeder bolt to prevent corrosion.

    2. Strengthen the sealing performance. In cable and cable engineering, in order to prevent an increase in the water level in the manhole, a heat shrinkable polyethylene sealing layer is added to the outer layer of the joint box or the joint box is sealed and sealed. This method is also suitable for fiber optic connectors in harsh environmental conditions.
