Here is what Virat Kohli said on MS Dhoni’s Omission from T20I

    The MSK Prasad who led selection panel had announced the squads for the T20Is against West Indies and Australia and MS Dhoni has been excluded from the two squads which raised several questions. In the squad young wicket-keeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant has been included in the two squads, with Dinesh Karthik acting as his back-up.

    On MS Dhoni’s omission from the three-match Twenty20 International series against the Windies and Australia. Captain Virat Kohli explains the decision and says former captain felt Rishabh Pant should get more chances.

    On MS Dhoni's T20I career coming to an end, India skipper Virat Kohli said that the former captain remains an integral member of the Indian team in limited-overs cricket.

    After Team India's victory over West Indies by 9 wickets in the fifth One Day International in Thiruvananthapuram, Kohli told that he was not part of that conversation and it is what the selectors explained. He thinks people are putting too many variables into the situation, which is not the case he can assure that. He said that he is still a very integral part of this team and he just feels that in the T20 format, someone like Rishabh Pant can get more chances.

    Kohli further told that the selector felt that in T20 format, Rishabh Pant can be given a chance and Dhoni anyway plays ODIs for them regularly. It was about giving chances to a youngster and it has nothing to do with what people are thinking and he as a captain can certainly assure you that.

    India will take the West Indies in the 3-T20I series starting on November 4 in Kolkata. The second T20I will take place on 6 November in Lucknow and third T20Is will take place on 11 November in Chennai. Virat Kohli has been rested for the series and Rohit Sharma will be leading the Men in Blue.
